3 Needle Bind-off This tutorial demonstrates how to work a 3 needle bind-off, which is a strong, structured seam. This technique is another option for joining live stitches, and can offer a decorative finish. Instructions are included for dealing with short row wraps.
Crochet Bind-off This tutorial demonstrates how to work a crochet bind-off which is the recommended finish for both the Tri-Peak Hat and Jester Hat, found on the Free Pattern page. This is a great decorative bind off and a good alternative to a 3-needle bind-off!
Provisional Cast-on This tutorial demonstrates how to work a crochet (or chain) provisional cast-on directly on to the knitting needle. Perfect for partnering with Kitchener stitch, and it can also be used as regular cast-on which mirrors a standard cast-off.
Circular Cast-on This tutorial outlines the ideal way to cast-on for a top-down Hat. Using a crochet hook, this method creates the stitches around a loop which can be tightened after a few rows, avoiding any holes at the crown.
Kitchener Stitch Analysis This tutorial demonstrates the differences between stocking stitch, reverse stocking stitch and garter stitch graftings. A basic knowledge of kitchener stitch is required. Instructions for all grafting methods are included.
